Insurance is compulsory at Berner Bikes but, according to the price list, is shown as a separate item per rental week (not included in the base price) – so when comparing prices, add the weekly price plus insurance together. About Berner Bikes Can Pastilla
According to the operator, Berner Bikes is active again as of July 2026: the website went back online at the end of 2025, the 2026 rental fleet is listed, and the station is still located in the garden area of the Hotel THB El Cid on the Playa de Palma. The fleet carries its own brand name – BERNER AIROW as the aero flagship model with Ultegra Di2 and carbon wheels (LEICHTSINN Carbon Aero 50 mm), BERNER Experience as a comfort-oriented model in two build variants (Ultegra Di2 or mechanical/105), plus a BERNER e-road bike with a Mahle X20 drive and optional range extender, as well as a BERNER e-MTB hardtail with Shimano Deore. An aluminium road bike with Shimano 105 rounds off the entry-level segment. According to the operator, every rental bike is serviced before handover and set up to your body measurements using a data sheet you fill in beforehand. Common clipless pedal systems (Shimano SPD, SPD-SL, Look Keo) are in stock and fitted; Berner Bikes mounts your own pedals free of charge, while fitting the operator's own systems costs a €10 hire fee. A water bottle, bottle cage, pump and a saddlebag with a spare tube are part of the basic equipment according to the website, with a bike computer additionally on the e-road bike. Insurance is mandatory and covers material damage from self-inflicted falls or accidents, but not theft, negligence or tube punctures – according to the price list it is charged separately per rental week, staggered by model. Anyone bringing their own bike can, according to the FAQ, also use the hotel's video-monitored bike cellar. Berner Bikes says it does not currently offer fixed group tours, but does provide personal route advice including GPX tracks. Professional handling, happy to return!
The bikes are in excellent condition.
Settings, adjustments and measurements are requested in advance. You can set off straight away when you arrive.
Timo himself was a successful racer and is, in the truest sense, ready to help with bike and advice.
It's not the mass processing so often seen elsewhere.
Good hotel right by the sea. Catering decent.
We'll happily come back. Even if you have to do without Campagnolo.
For a few days, second-rate Shimano and Sram will do too 😉😈

Professionelle Abwicklung, gerne wieder!
Die Räder sind in einem ausgezeichneten Zustand.
Einstellungen, Anpassungen, Maße werden im Vorfeld abgefragt. Es kann sofort los gehen, wenn man kommt.
Timo selbst ist erfolgreicher Fahrer gewesen und steht im wahrsten Sinne mit Rad und Tat zur Verfügung.
Es ist keine Massenabfertigung wie oft üblich.
Gutes Hotel direkt am Meer. Verpflegung ordentlich.
Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Auch wenn man auf Campagnolo verzichten muß.
Für ein paar Tage geht es mit Shimano und Sram auch zweitklassig😉😈
For all cycling enthusiasts who can do without guided tours
Went to Berner Bikes for the second time in March 2024 and once again didn't regret it. The road bikes are in top condition, superbly serviced. Petra and Timo are super friendly, knowledgeable and obliging. The station itself is bright, welcoming, clean and accessible at any time of day or night via a magnetic card. Everything feels pleasantly relaxed, expert and likeable.
The bikes were handed over to us, including re-measuring, on the very day of arrival, even though we arrived after the office's morning opening hours.
Besides the bikes, both of them also offer, among other things, professional advice and route suggestions.
We ourselves stayed at the THB El Cid Can Pastilla through Berner Bikes. The location really couldn't be beaten. Just 5–7 minutes by taxi to and from PMI airport, a bus stop right behind the hotel for a quick connection to Palma if you ever don't fancy cycling or walking there. The sea right in front of the hotel…

Für alle Radsportfreunde, die auf geführte Touren verzichten können
Im März 2024 zum zweiten Mal bei Berner Bikes gewesen und es wieder nicht bereut. Die Rennräder sind in einem Top-Zustand, toll gewartet. Petra und Timo sind super freundlich, kompetent und zuvorkommend. Die Station selber ist hell, freundlich , sauber und zu jeder Tages- und Nachtzeit über eine Magnetkarte betretbar. Alles wirkt aufs angenehmste unaufgeregt, sachverständlich und sympathisch.
Die Übergabe der Räder, incl. Nachvermessung erfolgte an uns noch am Anreisetag, obwohl wir nach Büroöffnungszeit am Vormittag ankamen.
Neben den Rädern gibt es von Beiden u. a. professionelle Ratschläge, Routenvorschläge.
Wir selber waren über Berner Bikes im THB El Cid Can Pastilla untergebracht. Eigentlich ist die Lage nicht zu toppen. Mit Taxi vom und zum FH PMI nur 5-7 Minuten, direkt hinter dem Hotel eine Bushaltestelle zur schnellen Anbindung an Palma, falls man mal dorthin nicht mit dem Rad fahren oder zu Fuß gehen möchte. Das Meer direkt vor dem Hotel….
