Gerhard North isn't a classic bike shop but a cycling-holiday concept in the Hotel Timor in Playa de Palma: road bikes, fitness bikes and e-bikes are kept in the hotel's own bike cellar, with a workshop and masseur on site. Suitable for road-bike and fitness-bike holidaymakers staying at the Hotel Timor or wanting to start near Montemar; anyone wanting the flexibility to pick up or have bikes delivered at changing locations around the island won't find that here.

Hire-bike insurance here isn't a fixed part of the hire price but a separately bookable extra – add it in when comparing prices with other providers. A deposit and ID deposit apply on top.
About Gerhard North Radsportferien
Gerhard North runs his hire-bike offering in the Hotel Timor in Montemar (Playa de Palma) and caters to cycling-holiday guests staying there. The fleet ranges from the carbon road bike (Basso Venta R with Di2 or 105, Fuji SL 3.1/SL LTD/SL 2.3) via the aluminium road bike Fuji Roubaix 1.1 to the Absolute 2.1 fitness bike for women and men. There are also an e-road bike (Rose Reveal Plus 105 with a Mahle X20 drive) and a Breezer Powertrip e-bike with a Bosch battery. According to the provider, the bikes are largely new or as-new and fitted with high-quality components.
According to the website, every hire bike comes with a cycle computer, an air pump and a spare-tyre bag (spare inner tube, tyre levers); you bring your own shoes and clipless pedals yourself. In the hotel's bike cellar there is a washing facility for the bikes, an air compressor and a workshop: minor repairs are done free of charge, according to the provider, with only the parts needed being charged. During your stay a masseur is also available (25 minutes for €30).
If you'd like to test your hire bike and then buy it, according to the provider you can do so on site at a reduced price. For bike rental in other parts of Playa de Palma it's worth comparing with further bike rentals in Playa de Palma.

Toller Anbieter, super Service. Es gibt nix zu meckern. Die Einstellungen haben perfekt gepasst. Eine gute Adresse mit einem super Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis.

Unfortunately we were neither able to hire a bike for the day nor was it possible to book a cycling holiday; no response to emails.

leider haben wir weder ein Rad für den Tag mieten können, noch war es möglich Radsportferien zu buchen, keine Rückmeldung auf Mails.

Cycling holidays are one thing, high-quality hire bikes for day hire another; we had the feeling that for day hire there tend to be older bikes – there was no Fuji SL available for us, at any rate.

Im Hotel Timor
Radsportferien sind das eine, hochwertige Mieträder für Tagesmiete das andere, wir hatten das Gefühl das es für Tagesmiete eher ältere Räder gibt, Fuji SL gab es jedenfalls für uns nicht.
