About Rad Salon Playa de Muro
Rad Salon is the Mallorca offshoot of a bike shop from Saarbrücken and hires out bikes under the name "rad-salon. Pro Rent Mallorca" from two of its own shop stations – Playa de Muro and Can Picafort – as well as through three hotel partnerships (Sunwing Port d'Alcudia, Sunprime Can Pastilla, Sunprime Pollensa Bay). According to the operator, the range includes road bikes with and without electric motor assistance, gravel bikes, fitness bikes, mountain bikes and e-bikes from the brands Cervélo and KTM. The hire and insurance terms are laid out in detail: an ID card or driving licence must be presented on collection, and compulsory property insurance costs between €2.50 and €9.00 per day depending on the bike's value – personal injury and theft are expressly not covered. The road bikes come with two bottle cages, a mini pump, a Sigma bike computer and a saddlebag with a spare tube and tyre levers. Your own pedals are compulsory, as they aren't included in the hire price. A hire day runs from 9:00 to 18:00. With an online reservation, a deposit of 50% of the hire amount is due within 14 days, with the rest to be paid in cash on site. Anyone who cancels less than four weeks before the start of the hire pays 25% of the hire cost, or a minimum of €30. A "premium road bike" with rim brakes and 11-speed SRAM Red (not AXS) for 268/week, that's what I call a rip-off! And hot-tempered and patronising to boot! Never again!

Not one star
Unfortunately the owner is a hot-tempered man who, after I asked him not to give me a bike with two different makes of tyre, loudly and aggressively wanted to give me my money back. Of course I had no alternative on the spot. On top of that the headset came loose, the Di2 wasn't charged etc. etc. and the general condition of the bike was rather poor. So unfortunately this hire company is not to be recommended at all. Similar reviews on the web only confirm this. Perhaps the owner simply doesn't need any more customers...

Keinen Stern
Der Besitzer ist leider ein Choleriker , der nach meiner Bitte mir doch nicht ein Rad mit zwei unterschiedlichen Reifenfabrikaten zur Verfügung zu stellen, mir lautstark und aggressiv das Geld zurückgeben wollte. Hatte natürlich vor Ort keine Alternative. Weiterhin hat sich der Steuersatz gelöst, die DI2 nicht geladen etc.etc. und der allgemeine Zustand des Rades eher schlecht. Daher ist leider dieser Radverleih überhaupt nicht zu empfehlen. Ähnliche Rezessionen im WEB bestätigen das nur. Vielleicht benötigt der Besitzer einfach keine Kunden mehr...

Rusty, unfriendly, old.
Rusty, "worn-out" SPD pedals, rubbing disc brakes, gears not adjusted. An Allen key for the saddle isn't handed over despite asking. Unfriendly service without any help whatsoever or route suggestions. Really, really poor.

Rostig, unfreundlich, alt.
Rostige „ausgefahrene“ SPD-Pedale, schleifende Scheibenbremsen, Schaltung nicht justiert. Imbuss Schlüssel für Sattel wird trotz Anfrage nicht mitgegeben. Unfreundliche Bedienung ohne jegliche Hilfestellung oder Routenvorschläge. Ganz ganz schlecht.

They cash in again on the extras. Nice BMC road bikes nonetheless
I came to this hire company because I really wanted to test-ride a BMC Granfondo Carbon. The Shimano 105 spec wasn't my first choice, but for a frame test on long rides it was completely OK. I booked online. What bothered me, and why there's a mark deducted, is the compulsory insurance. If the insurance is compulsory anyway, why don't you just include the €2 per day in the hire? It's simply tiresome having to keep adding on the extras. Ever heard of all-inclusive prices?

An den Extras wird nochmal abkassiert. Trotzdem schöne BMC Rennräder
Gekommen bin ich auf diesen Vermieter weil ich unbedingt ein BMC Granfondo Carbon testfahren wollte- Die Shimano 105 Austtattung war zwar nicht meine erste Wahl aber für den Rahmentest auf langen fahrten völlig OK. Ich habe online gebucht, was mich gestört hat, weshalb es auch einen Punkteabzug gibt, ist die Pflichtversicherung. Wenn die Versicherung sowieso Pflicht ist, wierso inkludiert Ihr die 2 Euro pro Tag nicht einfach in die Miete? Es ist einfach nur anstrengend andauernd die Extras dazurechnen zu müssen. Schonmal was von All-Inklusive Preise gehört?

Mr Wittig clearly has an aggression problem. Anyone who flips out like that over a small repair doesn't belong in cycling. Definitely avoid this hire company!

Herr Wittig hat ganz klar ein Agressionsproblem. Wer bei einer kleinen Reparatur so ausflippt, gehört nicht in den Radsport. Vermietung defintiv vermeiden!
