About Schulz Rent a Bike Cala Ratjada
The bike hire company has, by its own account, been active in Cala Ratjada since 1999 and is run as a family business. Alongside the main shop at Avinguda Cala Agulla 86 (towards Cala Agulla beach), there is now a second branch at Carrer de les Nereidas 29 near the harbour – when booking you can choose where to pick up your bike. It's open seven days a week from 9:00 to 19:30 with no lunch break. The fleet covers every holiday scenario: Scott Addict road bikes from €29/day, mountain bikes as hardtail and full-suspension (Scott Scale and Spark, Orbea Onna, Alma and Occam) from €8/day, e-MTBs from Orbea (Wild, Urrun) and Trek (Marlin+), Scott Sub e-bikes from €15/day, city bikes from €7/day, plus Orbea kids' bikes MX20 and MX24 for 6- to 12-year-olds from €6/day. Every bike comes with a helmet, lock, repair kit and pump included; for road bikes and MTBs you can specify your preferred pedals, and road bikes additionally get a phone/Garmin mount. Reservations are made via WhatsApp on +34 648 006 834 – you choose the model and period in advance on the website. If you'd rather not come to the shop yourself: Schulz delivers bikes for a flat fee as far as Artà, Canyamel or Cala Millor; according to the provider's FAQ, hotel delivery in Cala Ratjada and Capdepera is free from 3 rental days. Watch out! Credit-card fraud!
I hired 2 motorbikes with my daughters from the "rushed" Mr Schulz and paid the €1,000 deposit + €110 rental fee by credit card. Unfortunately I had an accident in which the motorbike – already covered in scratches and dents beforehand – fell onto my leg on soft forest ground, and I had to be taken to hospital by ambulance. My daughter (19) looked after me and notified the ambulance and the hirer, Mr Thomas Schulz. He sent a towing service and pressured my daughter, who was still in shock, to carry on riding her undamaged motorbike. Thank God she made it to the hospital unharmed.
4 days later, a further €500 and €200 were debited from my credit card, WITHOUT the card being presented, without authorisation or at least a message. The €1,000 deposit was likewise withheld. According to the contract, the excess for damage was €1,500. However, I never saw an invoice or receipt. My attempt to get in touch with Thomas M. Schulz by email to clarify this went unanswered. The motorbike probably didn't even need repairing. Someone here tried to squeeze the greatest possible profit out of my misfortune!!!!

Vorsicht! Kreditkartenbetrug!
Ich hatte mit meinen Töchtern bei dem "eiligen" Herrn Schulz 2 Motorräder geliehen und die Kaution von 1000 € + 110 € Leihgebühr per Kreditkarte gezahlt. Leider hatte ich einen Unfall, bei dem das schon vorher mit Kratzern und Beulen versehene Motorrad auf weichem Waldboden auf mein Bein gefallen ist und ich mit dem Rettungswagen ins Krankenhaus gebracht werden musste. Meine Tochter (19) hat mich versorgt, den Rettungswagen und den Verleiher, Herrn Thomas Schulz benachrichtigt. Dieser schickte einen Abschleppdienst und nötigte meine Tochter, die noch unter Schock stand, ihr unversehrtes Motorrad weiter zu fahren. Sie schaffte es, Gott sei Dank unverletzt, bis zum Krankenhaus.
4 Tage später wurden auf meiner Kreditkarte, OHNE Vorlage der Karte, Genehmigung oder zumindest eine Nachricht, weitere 500€ und 200€ abgebucht. Ebenso wurden die 1000 € Kaution einbehalten. Die Selbstbeteiligung an Schäden betrug laut Vertrag 1500 €. Ich habe jedoch nie eine Rechnung oder einen Beleg gesehen. Der Versuch, mit Thomas M. Schulz per Mail Kontakt aufzunehmen und dies zu klären, blieb unbeantwortet. Wahrscheinlich musste das Motorrad nicht einmal repariert werden. Hier hat jemand versucht, aus meinem Schaden den größtmöglichen Profit zu erschleichen!!!!

Ist ne Zweiradvermietung ...
Man kann hier Zweiräder mieten, ob mit oder ohne Motor, viel mehr geht nicht und Freunde fürs Leben findet man evtl auch nicht.

It's a hire company in a small village; whether that's the reason for the low level of service is up for debate – there are alternatives in town too.

Es ist eine Vermietung in einem kleinen Dorf, ob das der Grund für das niedrige Servicelevel ist mag dahin gestellt sein, es gibt auch Alternativen im Ort.
Schaut genau hin bevor Ihr mietet.
Overall impression ok
Anyone simply looking for a bike or motorbike will find something; the quality is ok, nothing special really. Low level of service, but still friendly.

Wer einfach nur ein Rad oder Motorrad sucht wird schon fündig, die Qualität ist ok, nichts besonderes halt. Service Level niedrig, dennoch nett.
