Why Not Cycling Palmanova
Quick Verdict
Why Not Cycling is a small shop right on the beach promenade in Palmanova with a fixed price table: road bike (Basso, Pinarello), e-bike, mountain bike and city bike from a daily hire, plus a guided group ride from its own shop twice a week. A good fit if you are looking for a bike with a delivery option in the south-west of the island without much advance organisation, or want to join a road-bike group. Anyone expecting the very latest top models or a large fleet selection is rather in the wrong place – the selection is modest.

About Why Not Cycling
From its shop on the Avenida de la Playa in Palmanova, Why Not Cycling hires out four categories: carbon road bikes from Basso (Carbon Ultegra Di2, disc brakes, carbon wheels) and Pinarello (GAN S Carbon Ultegra, mechanical rim brakes), e-bikes with Bosch drive, mountain bikes and city bikes for the promenade. According to the price list, road-bike pedals are bookable separately (€2 per day, free of charge from a hire period of one week) – anyone bringing their own pedals or wanting them fitted should mention this when reserving. According to its own information, helmets and baskets are included where sensible for the bike type.
Twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays), the operator organises a group ride on the road bike according to the website: meeting point at 9:00 at its own shop, continuing together with TramuntBike Mallorca from 9:30. Participation costs at least €10 per person according to its own information. Alongside this, Why Not Cycling offers individual bike tours: from the easy city-bike tour and private guiding tours to multi-day self-guided trips with luggage transfer between hotels, which the operator recommends, according to its own information, for spring (late March to June) and autumn (September/October) as the best time to travel.
To hire, according to the website you need a credit card as a deposit as well as an ID card or passport. Alongside collection at the shop, the provider also offers delivery; it is best to clarify the details directly when booking.
